Who We Are

Jamie Girard, Principal

Jamie started Girard Government Relations after nearly a decade of working as the head of the Washington, DC  office of SEMI, the global electronics manufacturing supply chain trade association. In his time with SEMI, Jamie focused on public policy issues that are important to some of the most innovative companies in the world.  This includes trade, export controls, tax reform, federal funding for research and development, and the creation of the National Network for Manufacturing Innovation, now known as the Manufacturing USA program.

Prior to joining SEMI, Jamie was Sr. Legislative Assistant for Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA-6). He served as her staffer on the House Committee on Science and Technology where he helped to shape the America COMPETES Act, including the creation of the ARPA-e program and other vital federal research projects. 

Jamie has a degree in Political Science from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and currently lives with his wife, son, and daughter in the Northeast Washington, DC neighborhood of Brookland.
